Eve of graduation

It has been more than four months since my last blog post. Recently, I have been busy with my graduation project, thesis, and defense, as well as wasting time playing games.

I have been busy and experienced many ups and downs. After being rejected five times, I finally submitted my thesis. I accidentally deleted my backend code and had to rewrite it, which took a whole day (the cost of not uploading it to Github). I also completed my graduation project defense, which was embarrassing due to some accidents. Finally, I submitted the final draft of my thesis and it was approved.

The school has not yet notified us about the graduation ceremony and graduation photos. It is probably because the school decided to cancel them due to the COVID-19 situation in Guangzhou (they were also canceled for the previous batch). I feel relieved to avoid some trouble, but also a bit disappointed.

But no matter what, I am only one step away from graduating with my degree. The four years of university have passed quickly, and I can't help but feel emotional about the passage of time.

Influenced by a friend (a master), I also want to contribute to open source projects, not only to improve my skills but also for personal achievements. So a few days ago, I made my first PR in my career to the jike-sdk repository. After two or three revisions, it was finally merged. While feeling accomplished, I also realized that the quality of my code is a bit low. I still need to continue working hard and contribute to open source projects. I hope that one day my skills will be recognized by many people, and I will have many followers and stars on Github (dreaming).

I received the book "Vue.js Design and Implementation" by Huo Chunyang at the end of March, and I am still intermittently reading it. I feel like I am trying to digest it all at once, but the book explains the design ideas and implementation of Vue very well. After all, he is the man who understands Vue the most, right?

I realized that no matter when, I need to learn English well. It is crucial for reading technical documentation from abroad and communicating with others on Github and Discord. Otherwise, I can only chat in Chinese channels. In the past, I used to rely on right-click translation when reading technical documentation, but now I am trying to read and understand it myself. Also, based on my friends' advice, I am listening to English songs and watching American TV shows. Maybe coding doesn't require excellent English, but I believe that English is an opportunity to break through professional barriers. Moreover, I think it's really cool to chat and exchange ideas with people from all over the world in the General channel (chatting with others has become my top priority).

"The boundary of my language is the boundary of my chatting world."

I am a person who lacks a sense of ceremony, so graduating doesn't feel like a big deal to me. I just feel regretful that happy times always pass so quickly.

When I first entered my freshman year, it had been two or three months. At that time, my roommates and I were so close that we had a father-son relationship. We would play video games and order barbecue takeaway for supper in our dormitory. We even went downstairs to the supermarket to buy a large bottle of cola and brought it back. We would eat, chat, and have fun. It was autumn, and the weather was slightly cool. The chicken wings in our hands were delicious.

That was the most delicious barbecue I have ever had, and afterwards, I always felt like something was missing. I hope we can still gather often, and I am grateful to them for always inviting me to play games. They almost turned me into a complete loser.

Throughout my four years of university, I have met people who have been impartial and have been both teachers and friends to me.
With a sense of luck and some regrets, I am quietly waiting for the moment when I receive my graduation certificate. I hope all my friends will be successful and have a bright future. Seek wealth and success!
